Being all other
Pakistani’s, we were also ambitious and hopeful that after the new
elected democratic government, they will not only uphold the
sovereignty of the homeland but also legislate for the welfare of
common man but unfortunately after the lapse of approximately two
years new elected democratic government is unable to achieve
substantially in this regard. Current government is still engaged in
lots of other irrelevant issues including their survival and being
ally to US against the so called war on terror, they are unable to
stop illegal (as Govt. itself denies the existence of any treaty in
this regard), un-demanded drone attacks rupturing its sovereignty
though Parliament passed a resolution against these drone attacks,
whereas, on recording their protest against these drone attacks,
FATA people suffered these attacks instantly. Factually the
situation is foreign unofficial security agencies are operating in
homeland on account of maintaining and improve the law and order but
under this cover they are not only creating problems of law and
order but involved in enhancing it with their ulterior motives and
task assigned to them. Moreover, these agents are not been formally
entered homeland and the concerned authorities didn’t have their
complete record as they were not gone through the formal immigration
process.
The complete facts
about the activities of notorious Blakwater (XE) and other foreign
security agencies operating in Pakistan are not yet disclosed
despite the enormous pressure from public and media. The situation
becomes more confused as on one end Govt. officials (Interior
Minsiter, Mr. Rahman Malik in particular) are still denying the
existence of Blackwater in the country but on the other hand just a
few days ago a bill was presented in the parliament which, after its
approval, will allow the foreign security agencies to do tactical
operations in Pakistan. This bill is dangerous itself as it will not
only jeopardize the public security and safety but also posses a
great threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty.
An effort is made
to show this bill as harmless inducting a clause that the foreign
security agencies must inform the Ministry of Interior about the
operation, number of people participating and the type of weapons to
be used. Would addition of this clause be sufficient to protect the
sovereignty of homeland? Would this bill encourage and uphold the
confidence to the local law enforcing agency? Who will guarantee
that the foreign agency will remain in their role specified in the
bill? As they are not register and the data is incomplete even
today. The motive behind this bill is not confirmed yet but one
thing is very sure that this is going to be an open invitation for
kidnapping and assassination everywhere in Pakistan. Does someone
has courage to ask those who are supporting this bill if they will
also make an effort to present a similar bill through the
parliaments of other countries which will allow Pakistani security
agencies to operate in their respective countries?
The acts of Govt.
reflects that we are still living in the era of slavery and our
homeland is being ruled by foreign agencies, where no law applies,
people are bought and sold therefore it is true that a nation which
is lost in corruption can easily be ruled. |
